Beatles VI is the Beatles' seventh Capitol Records release in the United States and Canada including The Beatles' Story. It was the ninth album released into that market in less than one and a half years Vee-Jay Records and United Artists Records also released one album each during that period. The LP was released in both mono and stereo versions. Beatles VI reached number one in Billboard for six weeks, beginning on 10 July 1965. The Beatles VI on Capitol. The Capitol albums also contained a handful of alternative mixes and instrumental tracks not available anywhere else. Some of these are available on the Capitol Albums volumes, and are worth investigating for anyone interested in variations in tracklis. The result was Beatles VI, using the remaining tracks off of the British-released Beatles for Sale album going all the way back to the fall of the previous year, among them that album's highlight, a cover of Buddy Holly's Words of Love, and four new songs, two of them from the second side of the. soon-to-be-released U. The result was as much of a mish-mash as any album of Beatles songs ever assembled by Capitol Records, although - thanks to the quality of the performances and the songs - it was still eminently high-quality material, song-for-song, and o.
