It is a collection of their early recordings, predating their third studio album Suffer 1988. 8085 includes the entire How Could Hell Be Any Worse album as well as two official EPs Bad Religion and Back to the Known, plus three tracks from the Public Service. 8085 is out of print, but on April 6, 2004, a remastered version of this album was released. While the album still did not break the band into mainstream audiences, it was the first 100,000 seller, and showed how quickly they were growing. 21st Century Digital Boy, one of the tracks off the album, is generally regarded as the band's most well-known song, and has been played at almost every live show. 8085 is now out of print and has been replaced by the 2004 re-issued version of How Could Hell Be Any Worse with the same track listings
